Why visit Seychelles
Seychelles is the most pristine, lowest-density beach destination in the Indian Ocean — and home to giant Aldabra tortoises, the unique Coco de Mer palm in the Vallée de Mai (UNESCO), and the world-famous granite beaches of La Digue. Less developed than Mauritius, more nature-led, and with the most photogenic beaches on earth.
Best time to visit Seychelles
April–May and October–November are the calm shoulder months between the two trade winds — flat seas, ideal for sailing, snorkelling and island-hopping. June–September is cooler and windier (best for sailors). December–March is hot, occasionally wet, with the smoothest weather on the southern beaches.
Which islands to combine
Mahé (Victoria, Beau Vallon, Anse Intendance) is the arrival hub. Praslin (Anse Lazio, Vallée de Mai UNESCO) is the second hub, 15-min flight from Mahé. La Digue (Anse Source d'Argent — voted world's best beach) is a 15-min ferry from Praslin. Outer islands (North Island, Denis, Desroches, Alphonse) are private and ultra-luxe.
Seychelles trip cost
Mid-range hotels and guesthouses run USD 250–500 per couple per night. 5★ resorts (Four Seasons Mahé, Constance Lemuria, Raffles Praslin) are USD 1,000–2,200/night. Private-island ultra-luxe (North Island, Six Senses Zil Pasyon, Fregate) is USD 3,000–7,500+/night. A 10-night three-island combo at a 5★ averages USD 12,000–22,000 per couple.
Suggested itineraries
